Lifting Latinx Voices Initiative—

Over the past two years, LLVI significantly expanded its community reach through various activities, health fairs, and educational workshops. One compelling story features a community member in remission from breast cancer who has greatly benefited from our transport services and our partnership with the East Georgia Cancer Coalition, which provides essential food resources. Her journey has come full circle as she now supports the project by sharing her testimonials at events and workshops, inspiring others with her resilience, and reinforcing the importance of our services. Take a look at this snapshot of Lifting Latinx Voices Initiative wins:

  • Facilitated and supported the execution of over 30 health outreach events both locally and outside of the state of Georgia
  • Held about 16 workshops with a variety of subject matters including but not limited to family planning, breast cancer, menopause, and more
  • Conducted six focus groups on breast cancer, cervical cancer, perinatal care, and the subject of personal and public health in the Latinx community
  • Impacted over 1,000 community members, meaning they received services, participated in a workshop, were referred to the clinic, or achieved a combination of these outreach metrics
