Civic Engagement & Organizing—

Our civic engagement and organizing work has truly transformed over the past few years. We grew our outreach programs by engaging in coalition partner text programs and mass mailings to voters, and we continued our work organizing actions and visibility campaigns for reproductive justice. Outside of our usual outreach methods, we also engaged in abortion-forward communications-based outreach campaigns including a multi-media campaign that combined billboard, radio, and street art outreach. We are proud of the direction our organizing is headed in, and we are excited to expand on our work even further in the coming year.

  • Hosted numerous text banking events in an effort to engage with voters and encourage non-voters to register
  • Presented curriculum relating to sexual health, STIs, HIV prevention, and more at about ten separate workshops
  • Developed and lead “Out of the Binary: A Trans Healthcare Workshop” in collaboration with Southern Fried Queer Pride
  • Collaborated with our clinic and internal research team on several focus groups (centered on the experience of birthing as a trans and/or non-gender conforming parent) which yielded the creation of our postpartum offering
