Legislative Advocacy—

Our Legislative Advocacy remains formidable and unshaken even as our state legislators appear determined to strip its constituents of all reproductive freedom. Our full-time Public Affairs Manager & Lobbyist continues to stand their ground at our Georgia State Capitol, documenting every moment of our legislative session from January to April in an effort to keep folks informed while they utilize the remainder of the year to strategize for the next. Take a look at this snapshot of Legislative Advocacy’s wins:

  • Distributed over 700 safe sex kits filled with methods and devices meant to protect against STIs and unplanned pregnancy
  • Supported both legislative advocacy workshops as well as advocacy days in an effort to provide attendees a greater understanding of our state’s legislative branch
  • Shared safe-sex resources with Middle Georgia 4 Choice in order for them to effectively assist the Macon & middle Georgia community
  • Facilitated town halls in Augusta, Columbus, Athens, and Savannah to spread news of the Reproductive Freedom Act
  • Provided Georgia Capitol tours and info sessions for Feminist Center staff and partner orgs to learn more about the legislative process and to be able to navigate the building
  • Sat on 9 total committees and campaigns all relating to the pursuit of reproductive liberation
